Peter O'Brien presenting Bird Photography

Peter O'Brien Bio

After a career in Chemical Engineering and IT (web database applications) Peter joined CHRSLPC in 2013

After attending the available training sessions and starting entering competitions Peter graduated from B grade to A grade in 2015

A key training session was Advanced Photoshop by Christine Nelson which provided the springboard for furthering knowledge in Photoshop

In 2016, Peter volunteered for the Competition Coordinator role in CHRSLPC. The benefit has been an enormous exposure to the excellent images of the members and an increasing appreciation of what makes a competition image

In 2018, Peter joined The Entrance Camera Club. As the significant competitions are print, this has led to a shift from digital entries to print. An image is best appreciated when it is printed

y second meeting at CHRSLPC was Geoff Higgins presenting his birding experiences. I was blown away and it sparked an interest in birding.

The second inspiration came from Rob and Maria Brear with their wonderful images of birds with something in their beak. How did they manage to find these opportunities? I began to find out.

The third breakthrough was The Entrance Camera Club and the opportunities that were available on the Central Coast. The images of Arthur Roy showed what can be achieved if you put the effort in.
